More than just an EPIC Agency…
Founded in 2015 with roots reaching back to 2010, the EPIC Group combines a world-class arts agency and management company (EPIC Arts Management, LLC) with a full-service live entertainment production company (Extraordinary Performers In Concert, LLC) to provide development, administrative support, contracting services, and tour management for both its represented artists and in-house productions.
Where It All Began
Friends since meeting at a small summer-stock theatre in upstate New York in 1996, Ron DeStefano and Melissa Giattino enjoyed individual performing careers in musical theatre for close to 15 years before joining forces to create a long-form duo song-and-dance concert (TWO ON TAP) that quickly became the most popular act in its genre. Lots of time on international flights and cross-country car drives got their brains turning: “how could the knowledge gained by playing countless stages and interacting with hundreds of presenters around the world be repurposed to help others?” And thus, EPIC Arts Management — a talent agency offering one-of-a-kind booking and management services driven by the actual needs of touring artists — was born!
The experience gained over a decade of touring infuses the entire EPIC Group ethos and informs nearly every decision made. Knowing firsthand how important high-quality press materials are to presenters led to a commitment to high-quality in-house graphic design and the creation of our online 24/7 Electronic Press Kit portal. Understanding the ins and outs of production budgeting and travel logistics (and how costs inflate when flight purchases and rental car reservations are delayed) helps the team counsel artists when routing their engagements and planning tours. But most of all, the actual “sweat equity” poured out by Ron and Melissa as they entertained tens of thousands over their years performing as TWO ON TAP gives them compassion for the needs of their artists and the foresight to predict obstacles to fair and equitable touring before they arise.
Creating and Collaborating
The two founders of the EPIC Group, Ron DeStefano and Melissa Giattino, began their work together in the “concert world” as self-represented artists (TWO ON TAP), and as they began to understand that midsize presenters nationwide were looking for more high-quality touring acts, the two began collaborating on new shows to satisfy those needs. Their production company Extraordinary Performers In Concert has created some of the most respected touring acts in the PAC, cruise, and adult leisure markets (the original productions of SHADES OF BUBLÉ, BACHELORS OF BROADWAY, and NYC3), and they’ve also provided IP and financial resources to help artists who already had a foothold in the industry rise to the next level (PORTRAIT OF ARETHA, BACKTRACK VOCALS, AMERICA’S SWEETHEARTS, and NIC+DESI).
